So you want to be a rock star?Here are a few simple steps to follow:Kindly email the ace talent buyer: Neptali Figueroaneptali_rwimchicago.com In your email please include the following:1) Your name and your bands name2) Your bands website and/or DIRECT link to MP3's3) Please include what other CHICAGO venues you have played and the bands that you have played with.4) Touring bands: Send the dates you are looking for...this will greatly help your plight in getting a date.If you must send a CD, please mail your submission to:THE ACE BARattn: booking1505 west fullerton ave.chicago il, 60614*ALL booking is done by EMAIL.You are responsible for bringing customers to the club on the night of your show. That means you MUST promote your band and bring paying customers to the club to see you play. We give you the door money, but we must make a living off of bar sales.If we give you a show and it is not well attended (rule of thumb is at least 5 customers per band member), we will be less inclined to have you back. If you pack our club, we will love you! We should see you at the bar, supporting the scene and original music anyways!If you see a night on our calendar you would fit on, let us know. If you have an idea for a full line up for you show, even better. If you are a local band that has not yet played The Ace Bar, you will most likely get a weeknight.It is highly suggested you get out and network with other local bands that may fit on a show with you. We do our best to put together fitting nights, but it is VERY helpful if you come to us with a bill in mind. We typically do 2 band nights and occasionally 3 band nights. HELP US HELP YOU!Playing a show isnt as simple as showing up and plugging in. We ask that ALL bands promote their shows as best as possible. After all, its you on stage...why not fill the room in front of you? Here are some quick tips:* Make POSTERS and HANDBILLS to bring to the club at least a month before you show. We try to poster local record stores, but you should supplement that the best you can. Bring your handbills to shows you are attending, hand them out there and while youre at it, flyer everywhere you can.* Tell EVERYONE you know to come see you play. The more buss, the better. Family, friends, etc., theyre all potential fans. Dont underestimate word of mouth promotions!* Contact the press...email us if you require a media list.After you have sent us an email with everything we have politely asked for, please give us time to get to your request and material. Politely send us a reminder after 2 weeks. * Load in is at 5pm on a normal night with a sound check to follow.* Middle bands do not sound check.* If you are running late, kindly give us a call:(312) 970-1505* The Ace Bar is 21 and up unless specified. Capacity is 100. Doors are always at 5pm unless specified. All shows are 5 bucks unless otherwise noted on our calender.
